Dalarna County was known as Kopparberg County until 1997. Its borders are identical to the borders of the province of Dalarna (Dalecarlia.) It is located in middle Sweden, bordering to Norway in the west. The county's area is 28194 km<small><sup>2</sup></small> and its population is 276600 (2004.)
